At Chiltern we’re committed to helping young people understand what it’s like to work in the transport industry and are keen to show them what life is like at an award winning train operating company.
Whether you’re interested in becoming a train driver, learning more about how we keep our trains running, train planning or working in a support function such as marketing or HR, we have a great programme to see how our business works.
We believe that offering a blended 2-week work experience programme that enables young people to see a complete view of the business, helps them to visualise themselves in each role, allowing them to consider roles they may never have thought they could do before.
We welcome applications from enthusiastic, passionate and driven young individuals who believe they have the skills and traits that are needed to take our business forward.

Please note that we receive a lot of work experience requests from young people and because it’s important to us to give the best experience, we have limited placements each year, so getting your interest in early is important. If you are not successful in the year of application, due to placements already being given to others, you will receive a space for the following year automatically.
