Travel Safe Officers

Introducing our Travel Safe Officers who will be out and about at trains and stations to help keep everyone safe. They are also there to lend a helping hand or help if you have question about your journey.

These colleagues operate as capable guardians and have been trained to standards that shape the Railway Safety accreditation scheme which is managed by the British Transport Police. Their duties and deployment will deliver a safer and more secure railway environment and help deal with anti-social behaviour, vandalism, and other security risks through the application of the Railway Byelaws.

The Travel Safety Officers can quickly respond and will monitor any emerging patterns of crime and/or disorder at locations to help promote a safe space for all. The team will also educate any groups or individuals highlighting the importance of safety and consideration when using the railway. They also look out for those who may be the most vulnerable and provide support where needed.

The team are easily recognised by their distinctive uniform and work alongside the British Transport Police ensuring a visible uniformed presence onboard our services and at our stations.
