Charity

At Chiltern Railways, we believe in the power of partnership to create positive change in our communities. Our charity support programme encompasses multiple initiatives designed to help charitable organisations make a bigger impact across our network.

As a train operating company, we're uniquely positioned to connect communities and facilitate charitable work across our network. We understand that charities play a vital role in addressing social challenges, supporting vulnerable individuals, and building stronger communities. That's why we've developed a comprehensive approach to charity support that goes beyond traditional corporate giving.

Our commitment to charitable causes stems from our belief that as a transport provider, we're not just moving people from A to B – we're part of the social fabric of every community we serve.

Our current charity partners

Chiltern Railways provides financial assistance and practical support to our key charity partners:

  • STEM grant funding – investing in educational initiatives that spark curiosity and build engineering skills
  • Donations from lost property sales – unclaimed items left at our stations are put to good use, with proceeds donated to partners
  • Customer contributions through delay repay – passengers can choose to donate their compensation through our online portal
  • Volunteering opportunities for staff – we offer time off to volunteer for local and national charities for colleagues across Chiltern

We currently partner with two outstanding charities:

National Literacy Trust

Dedicated to improving literacy levels across the UK, empowering young individuals with the reading and writing schools necessary to thrive.
