Line closures with rail replacement buses on Sunday 16 February

What work is happening and why?

The engineering work on 16 February will involve track replacement and drainage upgrades to help keep the railway and journeys safe and reliable for passengers and freight services. Additionally, the timing of this work is scheduled outside of busy travel periods to minimise disruption and avoid dates where sporting events are planned.


Due to the unusual journey routes on Sunday, customers are advised to buy paper tickets rather than using pay as you go with contactless if travelling to/from the following stations - High Wycombe, Beaconsfield, Gerrards Cross, and Denham.

Sunday 16 February:

The line is closed between Wembley Stadium and High Wycombe all day, and also between Rowley Regis and Stourbridge Junction until 16.00. Rail replacement buses will operate as follows, connecting with trains at High Wycombe, Aylesbury Vale Parkway, Bicester Village, Bicester North and with London Underground Metropolitan Line services to/from Baker Street at Hillingdon:


•    Hillingdon (LU) - Denham - Gerrards Cross - Beaconsfield - High Wycombe.
•    West Ruislip - Hillingdon (LU).
•    Aylesbury Vale Parkway - Bicester Village - Bicester North.
•    Some late night buses will be extended to/from Oxford/Banbury.


In connection with the above engineering works, an enhanced service of 2 trains per hour will operate between Marylebone and stations to Aylesbury Vale Parkway for most of the day.
 

Travel advice: 

If you are travelling between Marylebone - Bicester Village/Bicester North and stations to Oxford/Birmingham, please travel via Aylesbury Vale Parkway.

If you are travelling between Marylebone - stations to Haddenham & Thame Parkway, please travel via Hillingdon (LU) and High Wycombe.

If you are travelling between Birmingham Snow Hill and stations to Stourbridge Junction, please use West Midland Trains bus replacement services.
