Line closures with rail replacement buses on Saturday 8 & Sunday 9 February
What work is happening and why?
The engineering work on 8 & 9 February will involve track replacement and drainage upgrades to help keep the railway and journeys safe and reliable for passengers and freight services. Additionally, the timing of this work is scheduled outside of busy travel periods to minimise disruption and avoid dates where sporting events are planned.

Saturday 8 February:
The railway is closed between Wembley Stadium and High Wycombe all day. Rail replacement buses will operate as follows, connecting with trains at High Wycombe, Aylesbury Vale Parkway, Bicester Village, Bicester North and with London Underground Metropolitan Line services to/from Baker Street at Hillingdon:
- Hillingdon (LU) - Denham - Gerrards Cross - Beaconsfield - High Wycombe.
- West Ruislip - Hillingdon (LU).
- Aylesbury Vale Parkway - Bicester Village - Bicester North.
- Some late night buses will be extended to/from Oxford/Banbury.
- In connection with the above engineering works, an enhanced service of 2 trains per hour will operate between Marylebone and stations to Aylesbury Vale Parkway for most of the day.
Travel advice:
If you are travelling between Marylebone - Bicester Village/Bicester North and stations to Oxford/Birmingham, please travel via Aylesbury Vale Parkway.
If you are travelling between Marylebone - stations to Haddenham & Thame Parkway, please travel via Hillingdon (LU) and High Wycombe.
Sunday 9 February:
The railway is closed between Wembley Stadium and High Wycombe, and also between Bicester North and Banbury all day. Rail replacement buses will operate as follows, connecting with trains at High Wycombe, Aylesbury Vale Parkway, Bicester Village, Banbury and with London Underground Metropolitan Line services to/from Baker Street at Hillingdon:
- Hillingdon (LU) - Denham - Gerrards Cross - Beaconsfield - High Wycombe.
- West Ruslip - Hillingdon (LU).
- Aylesbury Vale Parkway - Bicester Village - Bicester North - Banbury.
- Aylesbury Vale Parkway - Bicester Village.

Impact on station facilities:
Banbury station:
Customers that plan to travel from Banbury station are advised that the Westside is closed in line with the Banbury Tramway works project. Customers who plan to arrive at the station by car should park, or use the short stay drop off parking at the Eastside multi-storey car park (RingGo location code 2625). Blue badge parking bays can be located on platform 2, which has level access with the Eastside station entrance.
