Friday 4th August 2023:

An amended/reduced timetable will be in operation, in respect of the following:

  • Planned MAJOR engineering works.
  • ASLEF industrial action (overtime & rest day work ban).

The railway is closed between Bicester North and Leamington Spa (until approximately 13.00), Bicester North and Banbury (from approximately 13.00) and also between Oxford Parkway and Oxford all day. Rail replacement buses will operate as follows:

  • Bicester Village - Leamington Spa (until 13.00).
  • Bicester Village - Banbury - Leamington Spa (until 13.00).
  • Bicester Village - Banbury (after 13.00).
  • Bicester Village - Kings Sutton - Banbury (all day).
  • Oxford Parkway - Oxford (all day).

In respect of indsutrial action, a generally reduced service will be in operation.

Finalised timetables are uploaded into online journey planners 9 weeks before the date of operation. Please check your journey in the planner at the following link: https://buy.chilternrailways.co.uk/. Any journey checked outside of this timescale may be subject to change; please double-check how these amendments are due to affect your travel plans. For some engineering works and special events at Wembley Stadium, timetables may be released closer to the date of operation.
