Charity Partner
We launched our official partnership with the National Literacy Trust in 2019. Since then we have worked together on many exciting events such as world book day giveaways, volunteering activities and even a very special story train event
The National Literacy trust aim to equip disadvantaged children from the UK’s poorest communities with literacy skills they need to break the cycle of poverty, get a job and be successful for employment and life. They help to transform lives through literacy by establishing literacy projects in the poorest communities. Their ‘Literacy Hubs’ inspire and support children and families to improve their literacy skills and they campaign to make literacy a priority for politicians and parents.

Charity Collections
We support charities by providing space at our stations for fundraising collection events.
If you work for a charity and would like to hold a charity collection at a Chiltern Railways managed station, please download and complete out charity collection form (below) and send it to us along with your Public Liability Insurance documents to [email protected].
Please ensure you send your completed form and PLI documents to us no later than 30 days before your planned collection date.

Volunteering
Each year Chiltern Railways grants up to 30 days for colleagues to volunteer for charitable causes.
Volunteer days in the past have consisted of things such as working at a local foodbank, joining volunteer groups to improve Waddesdon greenway planting hedgerow plants and trees, volunteering with National Literacy Trust to deliver ‘Dream Big’ programmes and many more.
If you work for a charity or community group and would like to discuss a volunteering opportunity our colleagues might be interested in, please get in touch at [email protected]
