Chiltern Railways, an Arriva UK Trains Company, is leading the way with new, innovative and sustainable lighting at High Wycombe station.
The company is taking its commitment to helping the environment seriously and has replaced nearly 500 internal and external lights to LEDs, which are more sustainable as they have a much longer life-span and are more energy efficient. The new lighting should use around 60% less power than those they are replacing which will help contribute towards Chiltern’s environmental targets.
Alan Riley, Customer Services Director said: “We’re pleased to have successfully installed these new LEDs at High Wycombe station last week and would like to thank customers for their patience whilst the work took place.
“This is another example of our commitment to addressing environmental challenges and we will be closely monitoring the impact of the new lighting with a view to rolling out the initiative across the route.”
