Chiltern Railways are encouraging passengers that haven’t had an invite to the Royal Wedding this weekend, to explore some of the regal attractions to be found up and down their route.
Just moments from Chiltern’s Marylebone station is Madame Tussauds where you’ll be convinced you’re standing amongst Meghan, Prince Harry and his family.
Just along the line is Princes Risborough, adjacent to the Prime Minister’s country home, Chequers, which used to be the home of the Black Prince, son of Edward III. There are no royals there anymore and while it’s not open to the public, the Chiltern Hills provide regal views across Buckinghamshire; why not try the Whiteleaf Walk?
Meanwhile Royal Leamington Spa, served by Chiltern Railways, provides a destination fit for any monarch and you can also pick up a meal fit for a King at Aubrey Allen who, by Royal Appointment is a Butcher to the Queen. If you’re hungry for culture, perhaps you’d like to visit the town’s Royal Pump Rooms Art Gallery and Museum. Chiltern’s trains also run through Stratford where the Royal Shakespeare Company can entertain you.
Chiltern’s trains stop at Warwick, home to a magnificent castle. Warwick Castle is a regal day out and your family are sure to feel like royalty if you visit this weekend. Alternatively Chiltern’s Oxford Parkway Station serves Blenheim Palace which has gifted to the Churchill Family by the Duke of York.
So don’t despair if Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have forgotten your invite, enjoy a day out with Chiltern.
Alan Riley, Chiltern’s King of Customer Service said:
“Chiltern Railways’ route is lucky to be packed with attractions with a Royal connection. Why not avoid the crowds at Windsor and enjoy some of them this weekend?"
