Problem
We are currently experiencing a fault with the train fuelling system at one of our main depots and cannot fuel our trains at that location. This means that we need to run slightly fewer trains than normal.
We apologise for the frustration and inconvenience that these cancellations will cause.
We have now found a solution and so the problem will be fixed after the weekend. A normal service will resume on Monday 11 November.
Impact
What does this mean for customers?
Over the last couple of weeks we have been cancelling four round-trip journeys per day between London Marylebone and Oxford. This enables us to divert the trains that have been cancelled to an alternative depot, where they can be fuelled. This will continue until Sunday 10 November. We are doing this on a planned basis, so that the number of cancelled trains is minimised, while also ensuring that we can operate near normal services at the busiest times of each day.
Advice
Please check your end-to-end journeys on the day of travel, as it is possible that some of the changes detailed below may not show in journey planners until late in the evening of the previous day.
On-the-day train service alterations may be checked using our JourneyCheck page or our online journey planner.
Summary of service changes for the weekend:
Sunday 10 November
- There will be four Marylebone to Oxford and four Oxford to Marylebone services cancelled, during the daytime off-peak hours. This means that we will be running three out of every four services on our Oxford route during the daytime on Sunday 10 November. The cancelled trains for today show in online journey planners.
