Sunday 1st October 2023:

An amended timetable will be in operation, in respect of the following:

  • Planned MAJOR engineering works.
  • Euston - Birmingham New Street route closure.
  • Wembley Stadium event - NFL (Atlanta Falcons at Jacksonville Jaguars - 14.30 KO).
  • ASLEF industrial action the previous day.

The railway is CLOSED between Princes Risborough and Aylesbury for 10 weeks between 19th August and 29th October inclusive. This is to facilitate HS2 civil engineering works including construction of a new bridge to carry the Chiltern line over the HS2 line.

During this period, rail replacement buses will operate as follows:

  • Princes Risborough - Monks Risborough - Little Kimble - Aylesbury.

Buses will connect with trains at Princes Risborough.

Additionally, the railway is CLOSED between Haddenham & Thame Parkway and Bicester until approximately 08.35. During this period, rail replacement buses will operate as follows:

  • Oxford - Oxford Parkway - Bicester Village - Princes Risborough.
  • Banbury - Bicester North - Haddenham & Thame Parkway - Princes Risborough.

In respect of the Euston - Birmingham New Street closure, an enhanced Chiltern Railways service will operate between Marylebone - Birmingham Moor Street, with lengthened and some additional trains.

In respect of the Wembley Stadium event, an enhanced timetable will be in operation for most of the day, with additional Wembley Stadium stops in trains, and also some additional trains.

In respect of ASLEF industrial action the previous day, the 08.11 Oxford - Marylebone starts at Bicester North dep 08.35.

Finalised timetables are uploaded into online journey planners 9 weeks before the date of operation. Any journey checked outside of this timescale may be subject to change; please double-check how these amendments are due to affect your travel plans. For some engineering works and special events at Wembley Stadium, timetables may be released closer to the date of operation.
