We're Running on Boxing Day

Skip the traffic and make the most of the Boxing Day sales by taking our special Chiltern Railways Boxing Day service.

Avoid the stress of finding a car parking space or getting stuck in traffic, our trains will run from London Marylebone to Oxford Parkway (and back).  There will be 2 trains per hour running plus we are also providing car parking FREE OF CHARGE at any of our stations along the route. Remember, there are plenty of great places to hit the sales - Bicester Village, London Designer Outlet and not to mention the famous Oxford Street, all within easy walking distance of our stations.

Frequently asked question's

  • Will your train services be busy?
    • We do anticipate some services will be busy, however in the past we have noticed that these tend to be between 8am - 10am and 4 - 6pm. If you prefer a less busy train its best to avoid these times. 
  • How does the free car parking work?
    • We will turn off our ANPR camera's on 26 December only, therefore when using our services on this day you will not be charged. If you leave your car overnight you will be charged from the 27th onwards.
  • Where will the car parking be free?
    • Car parking will be free at any of our stations along the boxing day service route, this includes: Oxford Parkway, Bicester Village, Haddenham and Thame Parkway, Princes Risborough, High Wycombe, Beaconsfield and Gerrards Cross.
  • When is the first train?
    • First train leaving Marylebone will be 08:00
    • First train leaving Oxford Parkway will be 09:10

  • Where can I catch a train? 
    • Our services will only run on our Oxford Parkway to London Marylebone calling at Oxford Parkway, Bicester Village, Haddenham & Thame Parkway, Princes Risborough, High Wycombe, Beaconsfield, Gerrards Cross, Wembley Stadium and London Marylebone.
  • Why are trains only operating from Oxford Parkway to London Marylebone?
    • We are proud to be able to operate this special Boxing Day Service. Due to operational constraints including sourcing trains and crew on a day where the majority of the country's rail network will be closed, we are able to run two trains an hour in both directions between Oxford Parkway and London Marylebone.
