As a Trainee Train Manager you are responsible for achieving a high standard of quality and performance on trains whilst managing customer security, responding to customer enquiries and in time times of disruptions being the first point of call for on board passengers.
This diverse role also involves providing clear and concise on train announcements and, passenger count information, supervising and assisting the on board catering staff, whilst managing anti-social behaviour on trains.

Chiltern Railways has an established Apprentice training scheme to develop people to become skilled technicians to work on our diverse and growing fleet. The 4-years training scheme involves a thorough combination of college based learning and work based training leading to a recognised engineering qualification and experience.
The New apprentices will start work in September based in Aylesbury with an initial full time college course followed by a mix of work and day release to college. The initial training is undertaken in Aylesbury but apprentices have the opportunity to later base their training in North West London at our Wembley depot and LOROL's depot at Willesden.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Training Manager based at the Aylesbury Depot. This post requires the highest quality of training skills, the key role of the post holder will be to investigate, prepare and implement high standard of training to all Engineering employees.
The post holder will be required to have attention to detail with the ability to manage and maintain a thorough skills and training matrix, whilst liaising with line managers to identify training needs to enable staff to maintain their competency.
The post holder will have line management responsibility of the Apprentices, be able to plan, direct and progress staff with the appropriate skill set to take up the next their next engineering role.
The post holder should be pro-active with effective communication skills, have good working relationship with external stakeholders and ultimately be a trainer with engineering experience.
